According to a report from the Philippine Department of Agriculture on August 14, due to the detection of the COVID-19 virus in frozen chicken wings imported from Brazil, the Department of Agriculture temporarily banned the import of poultry from Brazil.

The Minister of Agriculture Dahl issued an executive order on August 14, stating that according to relevant laws and regulations, since there is currently insufficient information to prove that this type of food is not harmful to the health of consumers, precautions have been taken to temporarily prohibit the import of poultry from Brazil.

After the Ministry of Agriculture issued a ban, the customs are closely monitoring poultry products that may be imported from Brazil.
