South Korea released some amendments to the “Labeling Standards for Foods” to modify other labeling items for tea and other products

On February 5, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2021-7, revising part of the "Labeling Standards for Foods". The main contents are as follows:
1. Modify some of the contents of the general labeling standard: for the case of product repackaging or repackaging, containers and packaging materials can be added to the original labeling items that can be changed.
2. Modify other labeling items of tea and other products: delete the product name restriction regulations of fruit tea products in other labeling items of tea; newly set the regulation that tea products can label "decaffeinated products"; other disinfectants for food additives and utensils are no longer marked with the production date, but the shelf life can be marked.
3. Modify the specific terms of the labeling standard according to the revision of the production date or shelf life labeling of the sterilization and disinfectant of food additives and appliances.
