South Korea implements inspection order for imported probiotic products

On February 9, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea announced that: Starting today, South Korea has implemented an inspection order system for imported probiotic products. During the last 3 years, imported probiotics that have been circulated in South Korea have failed more than 3 times.
The unqualified rate of probiotic products in the last 3 years: (customs clearance stage) 0.54%, (circulation stage) 12.5%.
Inspection items with high failure rate: probiotic content, boronization degree, coliforms.
